Neil's first memories of furniture were coming into his family store in Sheffield when he was knee high to his dad. Having worked on the van in school, college and university holidays Neil joined the family business full-time in 1999.

After 15 years of employing the service of web designers and builders Neil realised they were all way off the mark. In 2014 Neil started to learn php and began building his own web platform. Abacus was born and Neil started to sell the platform he had built to other furniture retailers. Abacus now have 48 furniture retailers using the system.

Managing products, price increases, social media, search engine optimisation (SEO) and graphic design can be complex and time-consuming. Abacus work for independents to overcome these challenges. Abacus build the website and manage all the above, freeing up valuable time for retailers to sell their products.
